About Ray Allison
Broker | Ray Allison, Realtors®

Ray Allison’s career in real estate spans more than four decades, grounded in early, hands-on experience alongside family and close collaborators. A native of Beaumont, Texas, with formative years spent in the Bahamas, he ultimately made Houston home after graduating from Texas A&M University.

Over the years, Ray has developed a comprehensive understanding of both commercial and residential real estate transactions, with particular depth in brokerage, development, and advisory services. In the early 1990s, he founded Ray Allison, Realtors®, a boutique firm in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood, building a practice centered on relationships, judgment, and long-term trust. That foundation grew into two offices with more than 100 agents.

In 2003, he partnered with longtime colleague and top-producing broker Mike Spear to form AllisonSpear.com, Realtors®, based in the River Oaks area. The firm was later acquired by Prudential Gary Greene Realtors®, where Ray was selected to manage Inner Loop operations. He subsequently led the launch and expansion of the company’s Commercial Real Estate Division, guiding its growth and strategic direction for many years.

In 2024, Ray returned to his independent roots, reestablishing Ray Allison, Realtors® as a focused, relationship-driven brokerage.

Today, Ray specializes in commercial sales, leasing, and landlord/tenant representation. His experience includes overseeing the relocation of numerous brokerage, title, legal, and medical offices across the Houston market, and advising clients on a wide range of transactions spanning office, retail, land, and industrial properties. He remains actively engaged in brokerage operations, client representation, and mentorship, while maintaining a trusted network of top-tier residential partners.

Known for his approachable style and clear perspective, Ray is frequently called upon to speak on real estate topics and market dynamics. Years of public speaking — along with his long-standing role as a Lector — have shaped a communication style that is thoughtful, direct, and engaging. Increasingly, that same voice is finding its way into his writing, where he continues to develop and share stories drawn from a life spent in and around real estate, people, and place.

Clients value Ray not only for his experience but also for his ability to make complex situations feel manageable — often with a bit of perspective and humor along the way.

Beyond his professional work, Ray has been deeply involved in the Houston community. His leadership roles include serving as Board Chair of the Downtown YMCA and President of the Plumeria Society of America, along with supporting numerous charitable and civic initiatives. He has also served for many years as a Lector at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

Outside the office, Ray enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time along Houston’s bayou trails, as well as restoring and driving antique automobiles.
