Ray Allison began his real estate journey in the early 1980s, buying, selling, and managing properties with his family and close friends. Originally from Beaumont, Texas, Ray spent part of his childhood in the Bahamas before settling in Houston after graduating from the prestigious Texas A&M University. Over the years, he has gained deep, hands-on experience across nearly every facet of both commercial and residential real estate.
In the early 1990s, Ray launched Ray Allison, Realtors®, a boutique firm in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood. In 2003, he partnered with longtime friend and top-producing Realtor® Mike Spear to form AllisonSpear.com, Realtors®, based in the River Oaks area. The firm was later acquired by Prudential Gary Greene Realtors®, where Ray served as manager of the Inner Loop office. Soon after, the company’s partners tapped him to lead the launch and expansion of their Commercial Real Estate Division, which he successfully ran for many years.
In 2024, Ray proudly returned to his roots, reestablishing his independent brand: Ray Allison, Realtors®.
Today, Ray specializes in commercial sales, leasing, and landlord/tenant representation, having personally overseen the relocation of more than 20 Gary Greene offices throughout Houston. He remains active in brokerage management, direct sales, and agent development—offering strategic real estate guidance for commercial clients, and referrals to top-tier residential agents when needed.
Ray is known for his approachable style, sharp insight, and unwavering commitment. His enthusiasm, integrity, and humor consistently set him apart and deepen his client relationships.
Outside of real estate, Ray is a dedicated community advocate. He has served as Board Chair of the Downtown YMCA, President of the Plumeria Society of America, and sponsor of numerous athletic and charitable events across Houston. For many years, he has also served as a Lector during Mass at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
In his free time, Ray enjoys cooking, gardening, running and biking along the bayou, and restoring and driving his antique vehicles
